BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH

In my life, there have been those albums that I immediately despised as well as then, all of a sudden, discovered myself loving a lot more than anything else on the market.  It occurred with the very first Counting Crows album, which I dismissed as tepid Van Morrison echoes up until it crept into my consciousness as well as took me over completely.  as well as it occurred with The Killers’ “Sam’s Town,” which seemed like derivative pop tripe up until “When You Were Young” got under my skin as well as boiled my blood.  So when Benjamin Francis Leftwich used me a Killers cover as an enticement to inspect out his debut EP “A Million Miles Out,” created by Ian Grimble (Mumford & Sons), I couldn’t state no.

And I’m pleased I didn’t.

The music is subtle as well as gentle, downplayed acoustic folk-rock with excellent lyrics sung in Mr. Leftwich’s gorgeous voice. Here’s the video, as well as the mp3, of the lead track:

Oh, as well as that cover of When You Were young is fantastic.
