Batman: Gotham by Gaslight announced

viewing the sneak peek for Batman: Gotham by Gaslight on the Batman and Harley Quinn disc made me anticipate it much more than I have any of the original DC universe animated films in a while.

Comic fans know the story, originally told as an Elseworlds by Brian Augustyn and‎ the well-chosen Mike Mignola: a steampunk Batman chases Jack the Ripper. Here’s the plot description offered by the studio:

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight takes place at the turn of the century as America’s continued industrial revolution is to be showcased at a World’s fair hosted by Gotham City. but while the world prepares to see the glittery glory of Gotham’s technological advances, there is a killer loose in the city’s darkest shadows. Preying on the city’s women, this killer is as accurate as he is cruel. As police Commissioner James Gordon tries to calm the fears of Gotham’s citizens concerning the butcher called Jack the Ripper, the masked vigilante Batman enacts his own detective work — with the help of confident, capable Selina Kyle — to stop the Ripper’s murderous spree. see a world in flames as the notorious serial killer’s controlled savagery meets the calculated stealth of the Dark Knight.

The trailer reveals that this, like The killing Joke movie, will be rated R.

Batman is voiced by Bruce Greenwood (Batman: Under the Red Hood), while Selina is played by Jennifer Carpenter. Commissioner Gordon is Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) and Alfred is Anthony Head (Buffy!). The script was written by Jim Krieg (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox), and Sam Liu directs.

The film will be out February 6, 2018, in these formats:

Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack ($39.99 SRP, includes 4K HDR disc, regular Blu-ray, and digital copy)

Blu-ray combo pack ($24.98 SRP, includes digital copy)

DVD ($19.98 SRP)

and available digitally on January 23. There’s one significant special feature:

“Caped Fear: The first Elseworld” (Featurette) — Batman in the distant past of Gotham, at the crossroads of where the Gothic 19th century meets the modern age. Jack the Ripper, clashing with Gotham and its ruling elite. The documentary traces the influence of the comic book story, and why Gotham by Gaslight stands the test of time.

Plus audio commentary by executive producer Bruce Timm, director Sam Liu, and writer Jim Krieg; vault episodes of “Showdown” from Batman: The Animated series and “Trials of the Demon!” from Batman: The brave and the Bold; and a sneak peek at the next DC universe Movie, suicide Squad: hell To Pay. The DVD only has the suicide Squad: hell to Pay sneak peek.

DOLFISH-I’d rather disappear Than stay the same

Go ahead, side with the majors and say the Internet killed the music industry.  I dare you.

Because in the 1980s and 1990s, when corporate music was all you could find, a person like Max Sollisch would disappear completely–due to his inability to be the same as everyone else.

So let us be grateful.

Dolfish, Sollisch’s nom-de-music, is about as distinct a voice as you’ll ever find.  (That’s right, she’s a he….I can’t believe this is a guy.)

Incredible, powerful stuff.

HYPOPOTOMONSTROSESQUIPEDALIOPHOBIA by HYPOCHRISTMUTREEFUZZ

Is this punk? Is it art-rock? Or is it just noise?

This extremely experimental album instantly recalls the early work of death Grips, or even nine Inch Nails, in that it’s got a difficult edge as well as seems like nothing you’ve heard before. The very first few tunes kept me unsteady (and frankly, unsure) however then “Hypochondria” kicked in, with it’s harshly screamed chorus, “I am feeling method as well much!” as well as I got it. everything made sense.

This Belgian band named its very first album after the exceptionally long word that, ironically, indicates “fear of long words.” as well as there’s a sense of concern here, as well as a strong sense of the unusual, as just about every tune has a odd title that you’ll requirement look up. “Cromakalim” is a stimulant utilized to treat asthma. Elephantiasis is a unusual disease. Clammy Hands are, well, self-explanatory.

Don’t listen to this if you’re feeling unfortunate or trying to go to sleep. however if you want to hear something exceptionally fresh as well as new, inspect it out. It gets a high suggestion from me.
