ARSENIC LULLABY VARIANT COVER ON INDIE COMICS magazine #5

Media release — A quirky variant cover from Arsenic Lullaby developer Douglas Paszkiewicz joins eight story pages from the mad magazine contributor in Indie Comics Magazine’s spring Issue, for preorder in Diamond’s April 2012 Previews under Aazurn Publishing.
The alternate cover from Paszkiewicz will receive limited distribution through comic shops, said Indie Comics magazine publisher Gary Scott Beatty. “As about it where you purchase your comics. One in every four covers will feature Pasz’s art.”

Harvey and Eisner award nominated Paszkiewicz will also feature eight pages of his popular Arsenic Lullaby creation in Indie Comics Magazine. From magician illegals to cholera cowboys, Paszkiewicz’s work is regularly featured in several national publications including mad magazine and too much Coffee man Magazine.

Paszkiewicz has been picked to be the featured developer in April’s Indie edge short article in Previews.

“We can’t get enough of Pasz’s twisted comedy here,” said Beatty. “This is the third time he will appear in Indie Comics Magazine. When his pages come in we pass them around the office and laugh our heads off.”

Pasz himself suggested he draw a cover, said Beatty. “I suggested we offer it as an alternate, a collectible readers will have to ask for at their comic shop,” Beatty explained. “That way, Pasz can let his imagination run totally free and dealers can still use the regular cover if someone objects!”

The 10 year collection Arsenic Lullaby: The Devil’s decade was recently released in hardcover and softcover, over 400 pages of dark humor and editorial commentary “reviewing all the crap that went on behind the scenes,” wrote Paszkiewicz.

“Arsenic Lullaby is made up of humor that is too twisted for mad magazine. imagine that!” laughed Beatty. “There are a lot of comedy comics trying to be offbeat best now. Pasz’s work is so unexpected, the twists so jarring and witty, he transcends current trends.”

In Indie Comics Magazine, short biographies and contact information are included with done-in-one stories so readers can easily seek out much more of the creators’ work. Merchandise, blog, sketches, the Arsenic Lullaby animated pilot and much more is at ArsenicLullabies.com.

Indie Comics Magazine’s spring issue will feature eight complete stories, from creators as diverse as Terry Cronin (Students of the Unusual), Australia’s Paul Bradford (Undercurrent) and Italian developer Maddalena Carrai (Creepy Gaga).

Indie Comics magazine is 64 pages of the best story and art from today’s independent comic book creators. No huge overprint, no digital version, no back issue sales, April’s Previews under Aazurn publishing is the only way comic readers can get Indie Comics Magazine’s spring Issue! visit Indie Comics magazine online at IndieComicsMagazine.com.
